Straight up YOGA: The reasons we're told to straighten up

Back pain is one of the leading causes of disability and missed work in the US. It is also an issue that lends to a $50 BILLION dollar health cost. Inspired by a student interested in using yoga as another method to improve structural discomforts brought on by less than ergonomic movement, we're going to talk a bit about the healthy postures and how to we can straighten up.

*Free tea (caffeinated or decaf)...hydrating which is important for spinal fluid and potential for anti-inflammatory properties

From learning how to lift and move more efficiently, introduce more physical activity into our lives, decrease instigative behaviors like smoking or not hydrating enough...there are absolutely things we can be doing to decrease our risk of having back issues that are self inflicted. If you have had previous health concerns with the back, please speak with your health care practitioner and get the green light for yoga. If there are any limitations, please message me privately so you can be accommodated.

This is not a replacement for seeking professional health diagnosis or treatment from your primary doctor, specialist, physical therapist, or chiropracter. Please use responsible discretion when engaging in certain practices, espcially if you have had a history with previous injuries or disease . Be safe. We want to do good for ourselves not make it worse ;)
